The Memory Care wing at The Wesleyan at Scenic is specially designed to accommodate the unique requirements of those with memory loss and cognitive impairment. All resident rooms open onto a gracious residential living space. Gone are medical corridors and the institutional feel of the environment. Meals are taken in a country kitchen just off the living area. Enclosed courtyards encourage enjoyment of the fresh air and beautiful grounds in a safe, secure environment The professional staff is trained in recognizing the characteristics of Alzheimer’s disease and how to provide appropriate and individualized care to each resident. Activities and the routines of care are designed to reduce stress and build on remaining abilities of this special group of elders.
